Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween Everyone!!
It was a beautiful evening for trick-or-treating with our friends.
Our little care bear and football player started the evening at the Olson's neighborhood block party! Lots of fun!!

Mr. Kale as a train conductor :)

Elliot and Aidan as Vikings :)

Sam took advantage of the blocked off street and ran in the middle of the road :)

After a few hours at the block party we headed over to our house where we made the rounds in our neighborhood, an annual tradition! It's so fun to see how much the kids change from year to year and see their enthusiasm grow about trick-or-treating :)

Before today Sam never really got excited about dressing up for Halloween and to be honest I had to practically threaten her to get into her costume tonight! She's just hit or miss when it comes to dressing up, but while trick-or-treating she sang us all a pretty song :)......

Last year's fireplace shot...

Happy Halloween everyone :)

Loyal Cowboy's fans!

Even though the Dallas Cowboys have turned out to be a little disappointing this season my husband (and therefore his family) are still avid loyal fans! So loyal that Chuck came across some tickets for today's game that he couldn't pass up so at 7:45 this morning we all hopped in our cars and headed to the stadium to do some serious tailgating before the game! Since this was last minute, so were the parking passes and thus you see our tailgate is between the caravan motor hotel and the fiesta hotel :) a little shady to say the least but the dogs and chips were just as yummy as always! :)
"Nikki" is just a little uncomfortable :)

the boys pose for pictures (stadium behind them)
the girl's pose is much nicer!
family pic! Christmas card? ;)

Sam was very attached to her cousin Ryan this trip....

Brantley crew....
A very busy but fun Hallween!
(Nikki and Ryan headed to game 4 of the Rangers World Series game after the cowboys game!)

Jask-o-lantern fun!

Pumpkin carving fun!! Sam wasn't so sure about it to begin with :)

She got a little more into it after awhile....
Matt is being so helpful :)

What's going on in Matt's World?

Oh Matt is such a big boy!! Literally :) At his 6 month appointment he weighed 17 lbs 15 oz (and we hadn't even started baby food yet!!)

He is rolling all over the floor now but if you could ask him I'm sure he would tell you that he would always prefer someone sitting next to him and talking to him - he's such a social bug!

He still won't roll from his back to his left side so he gets stuck next to the couch pretty frequently! Sam is very helpful in dragging him back to his starting position though :)

After his 6 month appointment we started letting him chew on things like pizza crust - so far he has liked ANYTHING we allow him to put in his mouth! This week has been a lot of first though and as you can see he isn't quite sure what to think of the pizza crust!

As tradition Gram's and Papa wanted to give Matt a pickle as an induction to solid foods. We were surprised that after the initial shock Matt actually seemed to like it!!
This video is the first time....

Enjoying a ginger snap :)
This picture is of Matt's first time with baby food. I make our baby food so it's measured in ice cube sizes. He tried 1 cube on Monday night. I sent 2 to school on Tuesday and they said he wanted more. Wednesday I cut him off at 6 cubes and today we added another feeding in which totaled 10 cubes for the day!! Oinker!!!

Enjoying a teething biscuit (no signs of teeth yet though)...

Graham cracker left overs makes a happy boy!
Like I said, this has been a eventful week for Matt and I think he likes the new change :)

What's new in Sam's world?

Sooooo, we have embarked on the potty training adventure again! I am happy to report that it's going MUCH better this time! I keep saying that we haven't officially started potty training yet and that we are just practicing but she's doing so great that I think we might already be close to mastery!
I don't think she was ever going to get tired of being in a wet/dirty diaper like all the books said she would! We finally just started pushing her, encouraging the pretty princess panties, and lots and lots of m&ms!
She's so stinkin' cute in her little panties that I can't help taking lots of pictures :)
She's already trying to be very independent but as you can see still has some trouble :)......

I also had to include a picture of her two favorite companions at the moment....
on the left is Harley (after Auntie Ape's puppy) and on the right is Jim (have NO idea where that came from!)
